my favorite movie of the year so far :: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.” two hours and forty minutes (what!?!) with some seriously hardcore scenes, but i wished it would continue!  it’s the first adaptation of a series of three books by swedish writer stieg larsson, which are fantastic.  unusually, the film stays true to the book, and is gritty and suspenseful while still maintaining its humor and depth of character.  they’ve already made the other two films, and the second has been released in europe.  hopefully we’ll be able to see it on the screen here.
